UK‑based payment orchestration platform Orchestr announced the immediate appointment of Aleksandar Saykov as chief product officer and Boris Petrov as chief technology officer, marking a senior leadership shift aimed at strengthening its AI‑driven payment management services.

These hires signal a new phase for the company.

New chief product officer brings extensive wallet experience

Saykov joins Orchestr after a 17‑year tenure at Paysafe, where he began as a software developer in 2009. His career at the payment firm spanned engineering, card‑issuing, UX/UI design, and merchant product portfolios. Most recently, he served as vice president overseeing product delivery for the Skrill and NETELLER digital wallets, as well as the paysafecard and paysafecash businesses.

According to the company’s statement, Saykov’s deep familiarity with both consumer‑facing wallets and merchant‑side solutions positions him to expand Orchestr’s product roadmap. He will report directly to CEO Angel Gechev, who also spent time at Paysafe, overlapping with Saykov during the early 2010s.

Chief technology officer adds stablecoin expertise

Petrov arrives with more than a decade of fintech experience focused on backend engineering, distributed systems, and payment infrastructure. The Orchestr release notes that he has a background “building platforms from zero” and “leading the teams behind merchant onboarding and provider integrations.”

Before joining Orchestr, Petrov worked as a senior software engineer at BVNK, a stablecoin start‑up that Mastercard is acquiring for $1.8 billion. Earlier roles include director of software engineering at M&M Fintech and a four‑year stint at Paysafe, where he progressed from an intern in 2015 to senior software engineer.

Both new executives share a history with Orchestr’s co‑founders, Rosen Metev and Boris Kostov, who also spent periods at BVNK. This overlap suggests a continuity of culture and technical philosophy that could smooth the transition.

Orchestr, founded in 2024 with dual headquarters in Manchester and Sofia, Bulgaria, operates an AI‑powered platform that unifies more than 200 alternative payment methods through a single API. The service automates transaction routing, retry logic, and reconciliations, aiming to reduce operational friction for merchants handling diverse payment options.

Financial analysts have not yet issued formal coverage of Orchestr, but the leadership reshuffle is likely to attract attention from investors focused on fintech infrastructure. The company’s AI capabilities, combined with a broadened executive team, may position it for partnerships with larger payment networks seeking to outsource orchestration functions.

Orchestr’s CEO Gechev did not comment on the timing of the appointments, but the press release emphasized the immediate effect of the changes. No further details about compensation or contractual terms were disclosed.
